Ash Creek Tidal Estuary

Ash Creek Conservation Association

Dedicated to the preservation and restoration of Bridgeport's last surviving Salt Marsh Estuary

Our Purpose

The Ash Creek Conservation Association, Inc. (ACCA) is a non-profit citizen- based group dedicated to the preservation and restoration of Ash Creek, a salt marsh estuary located at the mouth of the Rooster River between the towns of Bridgeport and Fairfield in Connecticut. Our group strives to educate local Bridgeport and Fairfield residents, political leaders, environmental groups, and other concerned citizens about the value and fragility of the Ash Creek tidal estuary. Association Goals

Who we are

The ACCA is composed mostly of volunteers from the communities of Bridgeport and Fairfield. We are a 501 (c ) 3 non-profit organization with a Board of Directors and approximately 200 members.  We also have enlisted the help of a number of local environmental and wildlife experts including Milan Bull of the Connecticut Audubon Society, Michael Aurelia of the Connecticut Conservation Association, and ecological consultants. For a great overview of Ash Creek Conservation efforts and our current projects, you can download the presentation given by Gail Robinson, ACCA president, as a PDF file. You need Adobe Acrobat Reader to read this file.
